SPENCER, N.C. – The North Carolina Transportation Museum will switch to its winter operating hours beginning Thursday, Nov. 1. Winter hours, which are in effect until April 1, are 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Tuesday - Saturday, and 1 - 4 p.m. Sunday. The site is closed on Monday.

Train rides are offered in November and December on Saturday at 11 a.m.; 1, 2, and 3 p.m.; and on Sunday at 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30 p.m. During week, train rides will run only when there are scheduled group tours. The museum offers free admission and is located just five minutes off I-85 at Exit 79 in Spencer, N.C., and about an hour from Charlotte, Greensboro and Winston-Salem.
